Good

To receive the highest price from the recycler’s your device must power on, show only minor signs of use on both the screen and body (even if it’s been kept in a phone case with a screen protector) no cracks, chips, bends or dents and have both fully functional hardware and software. It should power on and function as new with no water damage. The Face ID/ Touch ID must work. The device must have not been repaired or include non-original parts. The battery health must be at 85% or above, however if it is below this %, a small deduction may apply to replace the battery. The device should also be of UK specification to be accepted.

Average

If your device does not meet the ‘Good’ category condition stated above,  the  ‘Average’ category pricing will apply.

If your device falls into this category the device will show visible signs of wear and tear, such as small scratches on the screen and body. No cracks, bends or chips. It powers on and functions as new with no water damage. The Face ID/ Touch ID must work. The device must have not been repaired or include non-original parts. The device should also be of UK specification to be accepted.

Faulty

If your device does not meet the ‘Good’ or ‘Average’ conditions stated above, the ‘Faulty’ category pricing will apply.

If your device is found to have sustained either heavy wear and tear, or one or more faults are found in the functionality such as the Camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Buttons, Touch ID, Face ID, Speakers, etc. The device must still power on and have no water damage (our recyclers cannot accept devices with no power/display).

CONDITIONS OF SALE: (must read)

  • We operate a strict honest policy, meaning all our recycler’s on our platform will pay the price offered if the device has been described accurately and meets the ‘Category’s’  condition. If the device is over estimated in it’s condition, the price offered will be reduced proportionately into the lower ‘Category’. You are under no obligation to sell and your device can be returned at any stage.
  • All iCloud account MUST be removed prior to send to the recycler or they cannot accept your device and a return fee may apply
  • Your device should not contain non-original or third party parts, if any repair(s) have been undertaken it must have been carried out by Apple or an Authorised repairer. If non-original or third party parts are present this will reduce the overall value of your device and may not be accepted
  • The device must not be jailbroken, blocked, blacklisted barred in the UK or running on a third party software
  • We assume your device is ‘Unlocked’ to all networks when you sell your device, if this is not the case please leave a comment in the checkout section to inform us. Please note this can sometimes have a small impact the value of the device depending on the network the device is locked to
  • The Phone Way is not deemed liable or responsible after any event following the sale with the chosen recycler that is conducted via our website. A legally binding contract is formed between the A) Customer(s) and B) The chosen Recycling Company. The phone way does not receive, value, test, purchase or remit funds to the customer in any way.
